General Mehdi Rahimi

The last military commander and chief of police of Tehran during the final days of the Pahlavi dynasty. After a sham trial lasting from morning until 7pm, he was taken to the rooftop of Refah School where Khomeini resided. Revolutionary guards first cut off his hand as torture, then executed him by firing squad at midnight. He refused to be blindfolded, stating he wanted to die like a general loyal to his commander-in-chief.
